MAEA Wiki – New

November 23, 2009

New Format for Maine Art Education Association

The MAEA board meeting for November was ustreamed, thanks to the skills of Sarah Sutter and her collaboration with Shalimar Poulin. What is ustream? UStream is basically a free service that allows anyone to set up a broadcast “channel” and share their live event with the world.

Several teachers joined the meeting for the first time since they were able to do it from their classrooms or homes. You will have the opportunity to attend meeting in January virtually.

At the meeting Sarah shared the wiki that has been created for members to share information and have conversations. The wiki is located at http://mainearted.wikispaces.com/.

The Fall 2009 Newsletter is posted on the wiki and was created by Shalimar.

  1. Argy,
Thanks for mentioning the MAEA collaborative wiki. I hope art teachers will visit and click on the “Join this Wiki” link so they can contribute and participate in discussions, posting best practices, resources, and more. As soon as someone joins, I get an email and I’ll do my best to accept the membership right away – but it may take a few hours! I look forward to connecting with other art teachers in new ways, both in the wiki and via UStreamed meetings.

*The next UStreamed boad meeting should be in January; keep an eye on the wiki for more information! We hope to have more art teachers participating in the chat during the meeting.

  2. Thanks for adding this important information Sarah!
