Teaching Today
January 10, 2010A little food for thought….
The purpose of this blog is to share stories about people and places; and to celebrate the amazing work (and play) that students, educators, and organizations are doing in and for arts education. In addition, the blog has a plethora of resources and innovative ideas. This forum gives blog readers the opportunity to learn from each other. It is essential that we listen, learn, and collaborate in order to build on teaching practices for the benefit of every learner in Maine and beyond.
As I go into Study Wiz to plan my weekly lessons. I gather and load my essay questions/constructive response, resource for my student’s art test, and the goals of the latest art lessons into this program. I have created links for viewing the artist and his works. All my students carry their laptops like carrying a pencil (well most of them) to the classroom. It is part of them, it is part of me. I can’t help but be more inspired by your “food for thought” video. I will be making plans for this spring to educate our school board members of how our middle school art dept use this program; Study Wiz in our art lessons. Technology is so much a part of education; we all need to embrace it. This is truly for the best interest of our students and our future.
Thanks for your comments Frank! Study Wiz will be used for the Digital Photography submitted this year for the screen saver photographs. It is great to hear what you are doing at Skowhegan Middle School with your students!
