3 Year Old Conducts Beethoven

November 15, 2010

A special 3 year old conducts Beethoven’s 5th Symphony

Sometimes I wonder where I’d be without technology. I appreciate most of what we have access to due to the Internet. This is a YouTube video of a pretty amazing 3 year old conducting the 4th movement of Beethoven’s 5th Symphony. Thanks to Barbara Greenstone from MLTI, for sharing this link with me.

  1. Wow, unbelievably sensitive and great facial expressions! Definitely a conductor that’s not limited by the baton. Thank you for sharing.

  2. This verifies the need to move and dance with/to music, the beauty of which this child demonstrates! When do we stop and end up just sitting placidly listening and not moving?

  3. Great question Lisa! There is a great book on dance and culture and the importance of children having the opportunity to move and learn. Wouldn’t it be sad to lose that in our culture over time?! I will locate that book and share the title on the blog.
