Commissioner’s listening tour events in Bangor area

Education Commissioner Stephen Bowen will be in the Penquis region tomorrow, Thursday, March 17, the second date of his Listening Tour, announced Thursday. He will visit the United Technologies Center in the morning, meet with superintendents from the region later in the morning, and then hold a public forum in the evening to hear from parents, teachers, and anyone else who is interested in sharing their ideas about improving education and making suggestions about the work of the Maine Department of Education.

The following events will be open to media coverage:
8:30-10 a.m., Thursday, March 17
United Technologies Center, 200 Hogan Road, Bangor*
Visit classrooms and talk with students and teachers

6-8 p.m., Thursday, March 17
United Technologies Center, 200 Hogan Road, Bangor
Public forum

*For the school visits, please check in at school offices.
*The Commissioner will try to be available for quick media interviews immediately after the classroom visits for about 10 minutes. He needs to be in a meeting at 10 a.m.
