DaPonte String Quartet

The DaPonte String Quartet has a FREE music education program available to all schools, all age groups, aligned with the Maine Learning Results. The programs can be a half hour to one hour long, for a classroom or a larger auditorium with multiple grades. The four musicians introduce the instruments of a classical string quartet, play a variety of composers from different centuries and countries, and tie the music into interdisciplinary aspects, such as history, geography, and cultural movements. We are available to schools in the proximity of Portland to Waldoboro, and inland to Lewiston-Auburn, and are taking first requests for the weeks of Jan. 23-26 and Jan. 30 -Feb. 2, 2012.
