Wow, so much has happened in education during the last month while the blog has been on hiatus! Below are just SOME of the highlights. If you know of other events please be sure and send them to me at meartsed@gmail.com so I can include them in a future blog post.
- Governor Janet T. Mills signs Proclamation for Arts Education and Advocacy Month
- Youth Art Month opening at the Portland Museum of Art with over 100 works of art on display for the month of March
- Maine Arts Commission Maine Arts Leadership Initiative (MALI) holds Winter Retreat gathering with teacher leaders and teaching artist leaders to determine the future of MALI
- Jazz All-State Festival was held at Bangor High School
- Maine Drama Festival – nine regional events with hundreds of high school students, states happening March 20, 21
- Poetry Out Loud regional events took place naming 10 girls to compete at the state finals. Ella Shafer, Rangeley Lakes Regional High School 2020 state POL champ
- Maine Education Association is hosting its annual art exhibit partnering with Maine Art Education Association. Show is at the MEA offices in Augusta.
