July 1, 2009

Twenty years of service to MAC

On Monday, at the Maine Arts Commission annual meeting, Arts in Education Associate Paul Faria was recognized for his 20 years of service to the MAC.

Paul joined the Maine Arts Commission in 1989 as Percent for Art Assistant before transitioning into the position of Public Art associate. Paul held that position until 2002. Shortly afterwards, Paul moved into the position that most arts educators know him in as Arts Education Associate.

Paul oversees the First Lady’s Maine Youth Excellence in Act initiative, the Poetry Out Loud National Recitation contest, the Congressional Arts Awards and various grants programs including SMARTS.

Please join me in wishing Paul a warm CONGRATULATIONS!

  • What might a school look like that had a large piano like the one in the video?
  • Would this be a good way to teach not only music but dance as well?
  • Could you design a complete curriculum with the use of this technology tool?
  • How might this impact the learning for our kinesthetic and musical intelligence students?
